Institut für Systembiotechnologie

Welcome Sarah!

"Hi, my name is Sarah! From Mainz to Saarbrücken - my way into research began with a Biology Bachelor at the Johannes Gutenberg-University in Mainz and continued with a Master in Biotechnology at Saarland University. I joined the iSBio during my master thesis last year. During this time, I benefited a lot from the excellent expertise and equipment and experienced a warm and helpful team. Now I take the next step and extend my education by a PhD thesis at the institute. I want to develop myself as a professional researcher and, above all, as a person and look forward to making my personal contribution to research! :)"

Sarah Pauli received her training in molecular biology and biotechnology, prior to joining us. During her master thesis, Sarah did a great job in metabolic engineering of Corynebacterium glutamicum, so that - right away - we offered her a PhD position in our group. She started in February 2019. In her PhD project, Sarah will metabolically engineer C. glutamicum into a cell factory for novel chemicals, combining systems and synthetic biology and bioprocess engineering to drive her developments. Enjoy, Sarah!
